Well, maybe not such a SOLID streak...
Lots of holes in my streak of walking days, but I'm not giving up!
I walked 2 miles today and tried to increase the pace for the last 3/4 of a mile or so.
Started getting a twinge in my sciatic area, so I stretched a bit and walked slower.
Not taking any chances!

Three days to be precise! Weather and exhaustion. Anyway...

4 mile walk!
Walked 4 miles. No idea how long it took. A couple of hours counting visiting time. Later did Pain Free exercises and 50 crunches.
Micah mentioned to Bob that she was going strollerskating from Nevis to Dorset (10 mile roundtrip) with Audrey and Hazel. She bought a nifty jogging stroller a while back, but instead of jogging she rollerblades behind it. I arranged to meet up with her on her way back since she would be going right by our place. She called when she got to Dorset and was ready to head back to Nevis. I walked about 1.5 miles and met her, then turned around and walked with her back to Nevis. That was 3.5 miles. Then after visiting while she got the girls out of the stroller and into carseats I walked the .5 miles from town to our house.

Rainy walk...
I almost didn't walk today. Then I remembered that I didn't walk yesterday, so I HAD to. It was drizzling and in the 40's, so I layered on a sweatshirt, windbreaker and a yellow rain poncho with a baseball cap under it to keep the rain off of my glasses! It worked and I got in my walk!

2 miles...
Today I walked 2 miles. I tried a little jogging but my knees felt sore and swollen. I will stick to walking as long as I need to until my knees feel better.
Also did my Pain Free stretches and 50 crunches.

A 3-miler!
I walked 3.1 miles today. It took an hour and four minutes. (1:04)
I decided against doing any jogging because my knees were a little sore and my back has been sore for a couple of days. No sense taking chances!
I took along a small notepad and pen and jotted down some ideas that came to me as I walked. It seems like my mind is always running full speed when I walk and I don't remember those ideas later. I hauled out my fanny pack so I could take along a water bottle, cell phone and tissue while leaving my hands free to write. It's not easy to write when you're walking, but it freed me up to enjoy the scenery when I could write things down. Strange, I know!

Whoops! Forgot to post on Monday!
I think it's easier to keep track on my wall calendar. So hard to remember to get on here to post!
Anyway, Monday and today I walked 2 miles. The first mile just brisk walking, the second mile I added some jogging intervals. Very slow jogging.
Monday it took me 35 minutes. Today 38 minutes. My knees are groaning a bit (sore) when I begin jogging. I think it's the extra 35 pounds or so I'm carrying, so I'll try to take it a bit easy.

Happy Mother's Day to me!
I did a two mile walk this morning. No jogging because my left knee has a little twinge in it.
After the walk I did my Pain Free exercises.

Come, Lord Jesus!
That's what my hubby always says when the sky does this...
I saw this as I was walking back up our driveway after my 2 mile walk/jog. Glorious!
I walked briskly and after about the first half-mile began adding short jogging intervals. I've got a little sciatic pain as soon as I begin jogging, so I'm not doing much. Taking it very gradually.
That's today's exciting exercise report!
(BTW, the photos of me in the header and sidebar were taken a few years ago. I'm a few pounds larger, hence the return to exercising.)

It's been a LONG time!
Yes, I've been sloughing off for a long time. Fatigue has stopped me from working out, but I've walked two miles, three times this week, so maybe I'll keep it up. Working toward doing some 5k's this summer.
